Heres the videos of our hunt, both taken on Saturday the 21st. The first video is my hunt. You can see the birds fly down to the left at about the 1 minute mark. They flew down out of sight and I had thick brush to my left, so I had to leave the camera focused on the decoy. He shows up at the 17 minute mark. The other video is my buddys hunt, who shot his bird out of a ground blind at 4:30 pm.

Your video was awesome. It was like I was in the blind. First you sit down enjoy the beauty and the sounds, then around the 10 min mark I start to get bored and daydream and THEN adrenaline rush when you see that big boss come in from the left. Great Job!

Had a good youth weekend. Saturday was a tough day. We had a bird gobbling up a storm at about 60 yards but he never came in sight. Then this morning I was able to call in the bird pictured here. First bird for a first time turkey hunter.  :IBCOOL:

Meanwhile, my buddy went out with the other kid and had a big gobbler pitch down right in their lap. Unfortunately the kid struggled with a a shotgun much to big for him. It was resting on shooting sticks pointing the wrong direction, and with the bird right on top of them they were pinned down to try to readjust. Later that morning, he had another chance with a flock of jakes, but missed a couple of shots. He was pretty resilient though, and can't wait to go out for turkeys again!

On the 8th and final morning of my hunt, finally put the hammer down on a big Washington State Eastern. It was probably the most challenging physical and mental hunt I've ever had. I battled through lack of sleep, things going wrong on the hunts, missed a bird earlier in the week, even battled through getting strep throat, but still came out on top in the end. The turkey gods were definitely smiling on me today. Halfway to the Grand Slam at this point.
