They're pretty impressive guns. I'm not a big fan of the X-Frame Smiths, but the 460 is a heck of a caliber. The big Smith revolvers feel top heavy and awkward to me. They're excellent, well built guns though. If I were to get another 460, I'd go with the BFR. It's a personal preference thing; I just like single action revolvers better.

what is more costly the 45 or 460?  I have a judge and the ammo is about $45 a box.   mike w

Any thoughts on holster choice? I'm concerned about the Hi-Viz front sight.

There is a used one for sale on another site if anyone is looking for one with a 8 3/8's barrel.

I've got the 500 in a 4in. and it is the most impractical gun I've ever purchased and easily the most uncomfortable to shoot for any length of time but damn do I love that thing.

I have the BFR in 7 3/8 inch. Cheaper than the S&W and I'm with yorketransport. I like the looks better myself and I saved nearly $300 over the S&W.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............
