Fishing and camping options with Kids in Eastern WA
« on: March 04, 2015, 01:38:56 PM »
Hey there everyone,
I was hoping that some of you could give me some pointers on some low key places to camp(preferably with a trailer) and fish right at the lake with kids.  For example, I take them to Quincy lakes a lot which is great because we can camp, fish and they can play around.  Are there any hidden gems out there that I could be taking my kids?  PM me if you have any tips.  This year I want to be out more with the kids.

Thanks,

Elkrunner

Ummmm let me think, oh I know.... Rimrock lake.
Or Bumping lake but we used to go to Milk Pond all the time.  Camp across the road and she kids could fish it any time they w acted and we could keep a  eye on them.

it sounds kinda cheesy, but I like to camp at the hood park campground, and you can walk to the hood park pond to catch stocker trout, not to far outta town, and the fishing can be crowded at times, but for the most part its a worthwhile trip that is easy to accomplish time wise

I would go to Rimrock lake if I knew someone that wanted to drag a boat over and possibly snag some Kokes or maybe go find some hunting spots.

I was told Coffee Pot lake was great for fishing for largemouth bass and rainbow trout, and that there are some first come first served camping spots. I'm going to check it out either Friday morning or Monday morning. They do have selective gear rules in effect. I will definitely get back to you on whether or not it is any good.
There is something just indescribably painful about being stuck behind a prius on the interstate.

Depending on how far you want to drive. Up the Tucannon river in the wildlife area. A few lakes they keep stocked.

I always end up at silverline with the kids.  Its a bi-annual event.  We really like the owners and I have fiends we meet there.  Talk about some great fishing.  We really knock them dead there in the Spring.

I really like Banks Lake up by Steamboat (?) Park, there is decent fishing along the banks, though a boat is even better.  For the kids, floating a bobber with a worm can get great results.

I was thinking of checking banks lakes out.  I haven't been over that way since moving over here.  Thanks for the pointers.
