100 yds to 400 yds. If you're patient you shouldn't have a problem getting within a couple hundred on some opportunities, but it seemed like there were some instances that you would be hard pressed to get within 1000 because of the terrain.

I've only been in there a couple of times though.

Have you ever looked at the harvest statistics for the blue mountains spring bear tags? It's kind of ridiculous that they don't give out more tags just based on that.

Just hoping the weather were supposed to get in the north cascades does not hit down there as well. We're heading over for the opener.

I hunted 5 days there in 2013. Spent every day from sun up to dark on the mountain, even took naps on the ground and never found a tick one on me  :dunno:. It was in mid may when I went so maybe it was a good year for no ticks?

Last year we spent 3 days over memorial doing a loop and between three guys we picked off a bare minimum of 50 each.

We probably saw each other, I was also there last year on memorial weekend.  That was the most guys I've ever seen in that area hunting bears ever, I've been there 4 times.  We had a contest on who got the most ticks on them, 2 of us ended up with 12 for the weekend, my other buddy only had 11 but his was dug in his back.  He won!  You guys that never get ticks, you just very lucky, they have always been bad every time I've been there.  They really don't bug me that much, you get used to them but I just don't want any diseases.

The quad trail that ends at the wilderness boundry, we hike from there.  There was a truck parked on the same trail head all weekend.

You're missing some very important items.  I'll let you figure out what.

Played around up around Godman and where the 64/46 meet. Still lots of snow up in there. All the northern exposures had several feet of snow in many places. A motivated guy could probably drive across the top, but I didn't chance it. Wasn't much greened up up that high. Only bear sign seen was down below the ski slopes at the lower elevations.
Hit snow right past blue wood on the 64, and just before Godman on the 46.
