I don't have one, but I've been looking into it. If you don't mind me asking, what's the fuel cost on the bigger one? I'm looking at the standard sized one, but is it super expensive to run them? I think it'll take my pulled pork to the next level.
Also, have you done a pizza in yours yet?

There is a large range in fuel prices so it's difficult to answer. If your letting it rip at 700 or 800 degrees for pizza you are going to burn it up. I did a 100lb pig split between 2 XL eggs and cooked for about 24hrs on 1 1/2 bags of lump.

I don't have the green egg but I do have the knock off version " insulated steel " kamado grill.
If I'm just cooking steaks or chicken I probably use half as much charcoal as a normal charcoal grill. I can close the dampers when I'm done cooking and save the charcoal for the next Time I cook.

I have one. I get 40# bags of lump for $23 at a place in Seattle. It's fairly economical. Those bags last me a long time. My favorite things so far are steaks (800 deg. sear) and pizza on the plate setter. Another good one is something called Gai Yang Chicken. It's a street food from Thailand that they cook on coal. I first had it in Malaysia. It is really good. A google search will find many recipes.

I've got a large and small BGE and a #4 Kamado at the cabin. I would not get another small one if I were in the market again. The #4 Kamado is the same size as the med. egg. I personally think the medium is the most fuel efficient size. That said you're limited on cooking area really good for just 2 people. My favorites are Prime rib, cedar plank salmon and pork loin. The best thing I did was to knock the wood handles off one of those cheap steel woks and bend them so it fit into the egg. We're talking stir fry cooking machine!!!

I have a large one. I do wings on mine quite a bit, and of course it is the "bomb" for steak.

Buddy has 2 eggs big and small. I have a Kamado. Both are awesome ive had everything taste better. even frozen costco burittos! I dont think fuel cost should hold you up from a bigger one... they retain LOTS of heat and IMO its the most efficient design there is... I had Low and slow elk ribs 6hrs at 185 that were so good the carteledge turned to gellitin!
