Well, this is how it all went..Finished up working in Ellensburg around 4 on Thursday, pulled up to the lake house around 5:30, plugged in the boat batteries and poured a shot-glass of crown. Started to get things ready for the next day at Moses, all geared up and ready to go , hit the sack and was at boat launch by 630 am..the water was low and murky and It didn't feel right, water temp was around 44. Started fishing shallow, 6-10 ft, did that for a few hours with nothing to show for. Started fishing deeper water, 10-25 ft...still nothing and now its 1pm, decided to try shallow again , finally landed a smallie, right around 3,5lbs and that was it, nothing else..put the boat on the trailer at 3 and rolled to Potholes. We were on the water by 5 and started fishing, within 1 hour i managed to land 5 smallies and 3 walleye :IBCOOL:. Was at the Mardon Launch at 6:30 am, safe light is right around 6:50-7:00, started fishing in 15ft..started landing fish on rattle traps and jigs, by 11am we caught 12 smallies and a few walleye, then the wind picked up  :bash:. Decided to get some lunch and take a break, the wind never did die down. Headed back out, had to use 1/2-3/4 ounce jigs just to maintain contact with the bottom, the wind was relentless. We caught around 10-11 more smallies, all on jigs and rattle traps, they wouldnt touch anything else. the main lake water temp never jumped above 44 form what my electronics showed. The wind did die down around 5 or so, by then it felt like I tore both my ACL's again..lol. Woke up on Sunday and it was pouring down rain, long story short, I missed my wife and kids and packed up and flew home....Ill be back over there in a few weeks. I didnt go after largemouth, had a buddy who was up in the dunes Saturday, lets just say he did pretty good
C-Money- Moses seems to always be a few weeks behind PH.  :dunno:

Great! Now I'm wanting to hit the Reservoir!

Looks like a great early season trip, that wind over there can be something else  :yike: Had to "run" from the mouth of Lind Coulee back to Mardon taking breakers over the bow the whole way, that sucked! Made for a funny story though as it was my buddy's first trip lol. He still claims it's the coldest he's ever been  :chuckle:

Glad you had fun, thanks for the report!

Good report and nice fish. I can't wait to get back over there. I haven't been to Potholes in a few years. It used to be my go to place for a long long time.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
