Off season? You mean training season right?
« on: March 26, 2015, 11:51:53 AM »
I had the morning of this beautiful sunny day off so I took my yellow lab (Benelli) to lake Kapowsin for a little water retrieval practice.

How did he get back up on the dock?
Charlie Kirk didn't speak hate, they hated what he said. Don't get it twisted.

Cool pics. I want to take my dog to the docks and see how she does. She hits the water like a missile at the river and will jump off the ledges there. My folks dog who I used to hunt over was an awesome dock dog.

How did he get back up on the dock?

When she swam back up to the edge I would grab the nap of her neck and under her belly and pull her up. Same way I pull her up into a boat.

Ya the dynamic is different off a dock. They tend to be more hesitant. She jumps off my boat without hesitation, but at a dock she hesitates on the first jump every time. After the first time she is no problem. But I work her jumping in the water all the time. I'm typically hunting small boats, so I want her to jump how I want and when I want so I can counter weight!
