It's still a near miss guys. The season will shut down a few days after the rut kicks into full swing. Close but not quite, better but not there yet. On to Idaho yet again for the last two weeks of September.

Phantom - I hear what you are saying but it is still the latest into Sep in over 25 years!  And last time I checked the last 14 days in Sep would be he 17th to 30th. Apparently 8 of those days are overlap with Wa! 😃

Still don't have our late bulls back in 520.  So I will likely hunt archery during the muzzy season.

Great year to draw a bull tag for sure.  I prefer the Tuesday start as I was always back home from a four day hunt before the weekend madness. Saturday start sucks, every bow hunter in the whole state out the same day. But a good trade off for the later date obviously.

This will be my first year hunting archery, and we (son, daughter, and I) are looking forward to it.  I'll be off work from the 11th - 20th, and hope to get something on the ground.  Still trying to decide between the east or west side of the state, always hunted west with the rifle, and I'm tempted to go back to those areas since I know them so well, we'll see, going to be fun either way.

I've been wondering how many modern hunters will be headed out to purchase a bow now that the dates have been released...? Haha

Probably VERY few.  Lure of OTC cows will always be the biggest draw for bowhunting in this state.  One week later to call in more hunters probably isn't much incentive to get a modern guy to lay down his boom stick.  Should definitely motivate Multi-Tag holders to get more serious with the bow though!

I think the 209 primer would motivate more rifle hunters to try something new than any season change or cheap weapon access.  Maybe with all the new muzzy units opening up that user group might finally relax enough to allow the 209 as legal ignition.  Still just a seven day early muzzy season where rifle is 12 days.  So not sure just how much a difference it would make.
