I think that "engineering" a designer  breed to meet what people want is a bad idea....
Those more educated in the dog field can probably share a little more, I just don't like the idea of what seems like genetic modification.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

There is no such thing as mini/pocket beagles.  They are genetically defective dwarf varieties of the beagle.

There are two classes of beagles, 13" and 15".  Most 13" beagles run between 11-13".
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

A 13" beagle bitch is a small dog without being an inbred nightmare.

I am sending you a PM.

Jonathan is correct.  I raised beagles a bit for hunting when I was younger.  I liked the shorter variety as they seemed to have better noses on them.  The only issue we ever had with the shorter variety was breeding the females.  They had many issues with the pups.  Lots of them still born.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

:yeah: exactly what he said.

most designer breeds are mixed breed creations with cute names but still not purebred or they are less desirable genetic weaknesses that responsible breeders actually try to avoid producing (teacup anything goes here).

My sister in law got a little specialty cross from a breeder. I told her it was most likely a backyard operation churning out pups with little regard for health clearance genetics... now less than 12 months later pup needs a 2500 dollar operation bc his knee pops in and out all the time. Seems like most all designer breeders and doing it to make a buck without much regard for healthy genetics or improving the "breed". Probably way to broad a statement to be 100% true.
