Sage rats in the South of WA?

Hello

I have a good friend that really wants to go sage rat hunting (sounds more like shooting then hunting tho lol).

We live in the SW of the State, just East of Vancouver.

I know private hunting grounds are closely held secrets but I was hoping someone might point me in a direction.

I already thought of going door to door asking each farmer if they needed help but don't have the time to randomly start where we live and keep going east until we hit good territory, asking every mile...  If I can help it.

Even a helpful link would be better then some of what Google is offering up.

Are you or you friend a responsible hunter that will not shoot the trees, vines or water lines then I maybe able to get you onto my father in laws. A 22 with a lot of 25 round clips is the best gun for this cheap and deadly.  PM me for more info.  this is the Prosser area but Sat or sundays will be best because the workers are not in the fields on those days.

Hunterrcc, that's down-right awesome right there! You better take him up on that offer Joe.
I have a work buddy from that area. He tells me when things get good, you can get nearly 100 rats/ acre in the farm fields (hops, grapes, etc.). They can really damage the crops and most farmers welcome any sort of reduction. Some even pay - like 50 cents each. That would more than pay for some .22 rounds.

Absolutely!

We are both around 40 (not that age makes maturity, unfortunatly...), have family's and children, but are looking for something away from the family's for just he and I to go do.

We are both avid outdoorsmen and believe in the old and proven ways and not so much into the new world instant gratification that seems to be everyone's top priority.

I certainly did not expect this kind of response or this fast so I'm next to speechless.

I don't have any current places to shoot sage rats, but I grew up shooting them in Prosser. The rats on the north side of the river are different than those on the south and Mr. Baumgartner, the HS biology teacher paid us for south side rats we caught alive. He sent them to someone who was studying them.

WOW  50 cents a rat. Great retirement in come. I could afford to eat and shoot LOL. I have had farmers add to my bullet supply but never pay ME to shoot. Can you visualize walking up to a farmer's door after a good week of shooting and telling him you downed 2000 rats. Or better yet handing him 2000 well shot rats in various condition of I'll repair(dead with holes). Boy taking your sport to the next level. Please PM location and contacts. AGAIN LOL
