Dodge ram radio upgrades
« on: April 11, 2015, 06:14:29 AM »
My 04 ram came factory with a 6 disc changer and infinity system, which has a factory amp or equalizer or something? I got a radio and install kit a couple years ago and it wouldn't power the amp so I never used it. Anyone put one in themselves and if so how'd you do it? I don't really want to have a shop do it, and end up with a hack job.

Thanks
Chris

I don't have your answer, but if you plan to sell the stock radio I may be interested.  Just shoot me a PM.

I would think a good shop would be the way to go. Just search them and find the best.

You need one of these to make the factory amp work with the aftermarket deck. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127C2RCHY4/PAC-C2R-CHY4-Wiring-Interface.html?tp=3486

Shop around though, Crutchfield isn't the best deal.

google around for an installation kit specific to your ride and the replacement radio. My have to get close recommended and modify.. its not rocket science but is painful to learn how to disassemble!

Amazon has the same thing for 57! I'll give it a try. Disassembly and reassembly are the easy parts for me.

My 02 Ram needed an adapter mount and fascia plate. Amps went under the front seats, separates in the doors and bass's in the pockets under the back seat.
