Blaze Orange?
« on: April 12, 2015, 11:29:34 PM »
Do we need to wear blaze orange for spring turkey? I've heard it both ways. Anyone able to clarify? Please and thank you.

No orange. Due to the color spectrum turkeys see, the requirement is hot pink.

So, business as usual?   :chuckle:

As already mentioned not required .... but I would suggest it's not a bad idea if you're giving a bird a piggyback ride to your truck .....  I have a Cabelas blaze orange blood proof bag you can put the bird and wear as a backpack as you walk out ... you don't have blood dripping down your coat or shirt and smearing on the seats when you get to the truck ... you also don't get shot at by having the wings and tail feathers bouncing around imitating a strutting tom ... great buy for 1 mere 10 spot .....

That is a great idea. I packed a blaze orange vest and some orange marking tape to throw around everything if I do manage to get lucky tomorrow, but that bloodless bag seems like a must have for the future.

TurkeyDancer, do you have a SKU or a link to the blaze orange bag you mentioned?  I have been looking for something like that without success.

Thanks!
I am trying to connect with, and introduce my family to, the American hunting and fishing heritage to which I was never introduced.
