Did it come with the leupold?  I think with the scope its a pretty good deal.  Seems like while these are sought after, condition has the biggest impact on price.  I would say at $600 you got a good deal, especially if it came with a scope.  I wouldn't cal it a SHOCKINGLY AMAZING deal, but definitely a good deal.

Yep it came with the Leupold

What kind of a pacifist _ _ _ _ _ is this guy letting his wife tell him to get rid of a gun that way.  :yike:

No women will ever tell me to do something like that, even if it meant divorce she would be gone.

But hey good score for you, maybe someday when he gets rid of her he can have his gun back. :chuckle:

Too bad about the stock.  Should be a good shooter.

300rum, Not to get into a whizzing match with anyone, but why would you think its too bad about the stock?
I did a google search on Win. Pre-64 Mod. 70 super grade, lo and behold there were several photos shown for super grades that had the same scroll engraving on the stock. If it is an "original factory" scroll on the stock one would think it would add value for rarity rather than detract. But with the internet things that appear to be real sometime are not.

I don't think it is original.  I may be entirely wrong but I think someone engraved these aftermarket which was pretty common at the time.  It shouldn't be too hard to find out who.  At least it doesn't have someone's social security number scratched into it or the butt plate hacked off (Both of which I have seen before on a Super Grade).
