Stock tires/wheels:

TIRE: P275/65R18

Not sure of the correct term... is it possible that they were 18's stock because of the trim/options?

I dont know of any brakes on 1 tons that require more than 17" wheels to clear. I know a one ton dodge requires 17" because the 16s would rub on the caliper

I'd assume it's definitely the trim package. Probably a limited or other nicely equipped truck with all the bells and whistles.

I swapped out the stock 18's on my 2007 F150 for 17's and running the Goodyear duratracs.....so far they are the best tire I have run.....throw mud like my Mickey Thompson MTZ's but are very quiet running on the road and wearing great....very good in the snow too.......Discount tire has some very good sales at times that's where I went.

If you want to keep the 20's 275/65/20 is 34x11 and provides some decent 10 ply choices as this is the stock size for some of the new F250 and Chevy 2500's that come with 20 inch rims.

Otherwise the suggestions for the 18's are the best bet as the rotors will be problems for some of the 17 inch choices both on cooling and possibly rubbing on the rotors.

I have a 2008 F150, and stock rims were 17s. I have a couple extra sets of original 17s, if that's the route you want to go let me know, we can make an easy deal.

I have an 06 and I switch back and forth from 17" to 18" depending on the deals I find on used tires. I feel sorry for you when its time to change your plugs though  :chuckle:

Luckily the guy I bought it from did the 100k tune up at 80k miles and did a bunch of other maintenance so plugs have been changed.
