Custom Rifle
« on: May 10, 2015, 11:15:10 AM »
Just ordered myself a LANE PRECISION  300 WSM,I wanted a Light weight MT RIFLE. So this is the layout, 300 WSM, Pierce engineering Titanium action, custom light weight Bolt, stock like the one on my Reminton338 Ultra mag,  Bartlein  25" barrel spiral cut, custom Bottom metal, shorty muzzle brake, Huber trigger. Ceracote armor black. Stock color is a combination of OD Green, Black , and tan. Plan to use this Rifle to do a Dall's sheep, Auodad sheep Plus other game. Yes it was costly, but I am retired and worked hard, so I deserve it. I havn't made my mind up on scope Probably a VX 3 4.5x14x40 with custom knob's, al the other scopes I looked at are to heavy for what I want. Weight will be 6# or under. with out scope. What do you think? Will get delivery in 10 month or less.

What's the weight going be?  I don't think you can go wrong with that scope.

Make sure you post some pics when it all comes together.  March scopes are nice and pretty good for compactness and weight, but a bit heavier than the Leupold VX3 and a bunch more cash.  Look at the custom shop at Leupold and see if any custom colors or maybe a sheep engraving on the bell of the scope would make it even more of "your" scope.
Disappointments are inevitable, misery is optional.

sound's awesome, I'm getting a 300 rum made by benchmark barrels, that is the scope I went with and can't wait to get my hands on that gun should be any time. that will be a great scope for the setup when trying to save weight
