Silk, your inbox is full. I haven't seen any bears yet, I have glassed many miles of terrain. My guess is because the snow is gone and green up is at every elevation, the Bears are more spread out than years past.

My guess is because the snow is gone and green up is at every elevation, the Bears are more spread out than years past.I glassed so much terrain it was silly and didn't see a bear. I've never had to look so hard for a bear. I'm guessing its primarily due to my lack of knowledge of the area and bears in the area. For me, I need to find a few so I can build a pattern as to the type of area, vegetation, ect... they like. Finding that first one or two sure is proving harder than I was figuring it would.Good luck. Keep grinding and it will happen. Then maybe you can help the rest of us connect some dots.
I believe it's called the shilo resort, around 28 a night or 176.00 for week for hook up. Water and electricity, and showers. A sewer dump is nearby I believe. Been hiking for about an hour so far nothing, weather today is nice.
Old camp I found, not sure how they got that wood stove up here?!
Trophy hunt try rays ridge or if you want to hike head to 3 forks trail hike down to first creek, then 2nd creek lots of bears but you will earn them !!

Nice cool morning today, supposed to rain next two days, which I heard is not good for bear hunting. How many miles to that second creek, do I take the first creek and then the second? Or just take the second creek to the right off the main trail? Thanks!
