Sounds like my kind of guy.   I lived in NW WI for three years in a tent.  My brother in law comes out here every Jan. for a week of coyote hunting and camping out at Moses Lake.  He likes hunting out there becuse it's so nice and warm in Jan., his idea of warm is 0 and above.  I'm picking him up at the airport this friday.

I took a few years off and built my folks a retirement home near Spooner WI.  I spent the summers working on the house and the winters running traplines, icefishing and hunting.  I lived on $200 a month and the profits from my traplines.

The tent was a 9x12 outside frame wall tent with a wood stove in it, I even had a treddle sewing machine in it and sewed and mended my own cloths and took in some mending for the local bachlors.

It was a great life, but ended up deciding that I needed to put together a grubstake for the future.  I call it my midlife retirement it lasted about 10yrs and the 3yrs were in the middle.

I was curious once about camping inthe snow so I started looking around the internet.  I ran across a site that was for that.  These crazy sobs are camping in like -40 degree weather lol up in Canada.  Theres no way in h*#l Id be out in that cold but they seem to enjoy it.  Something about making a mistake will kill you frozen solid dead is fun I guess.  I have camped around freezing and a little below but thats it.

5 is cold, -40 is real cold.  Even at 5 degrees, dont know how long I could stay.  Standing out in the snow taking a bath with a snowball dont seem like a lot of fun.  I have though been considering camping inthe snow.  I dont have a tent for it though.  All I got is a small bivvy type that would likely cave in on me if it snowed much at all.
