#7 Columbian Blacktail Deer Non-Typical Wa
«
on:

I got this buck from my grandpa, He bought it from the grandson of the guy that shot it. It has the metal deer tag and serial number, it was killed in 1955 on Ft. Lewis in Pierce County. The buck is #7 in Wa for Non-Typical, Im trying to find info on these old metal deer tags so I can confirm the story I was told any info would be greatly appreciated.

Would be cool to hunt it and get a cape from the area to mount it on!

Awesome buck! That tag looks nice with paint on it, i knew Don Sowell Sr who has a typical top 5 Blacktail from 1950 and the tag on his buck was the same but rusty. He killed it in the Ryderwood unit

Wow, nice rack!
Amazing that no new entries in the top 10 since the early '60s. I guess that comes from adding 3 million people to the state population, with a (presumptive) increase in hunting pressure.

Nice. Reminds me of the 8x8 non-typical white tail buck I shot in Winthrop years ago. Mine was not real big but points all over. Pretty cool.
