Thanx TRD1911, That is a nice looking rifle. The folding stock these days go for a pretty penny. But with that rear trunion, it can have a solid stock also. The three guns I posted at the top of this thread were all based on Romy "G" kits. Even the pistol. They are the most common kits and assemble really nice.
Thanx for the link to your friends FB page. I love gun porn. He has some really nice toys. Is he in eastern Washington? I asked because Most of the pics of him looked like the east side. Did he machine the 80% AR lower and finish the cast upper?

Hes local to Kitsap but travels east a lot for long range competition. I believe some of the photos on there were from the JC Steel Challenge but I may be wrong.

Now that you mention the Romy "G" kits, I believe you are correct. I remember not being real particular which one I slapped together since it was my first "build". If I was to build another I would like to mimic the Khyber Pass side folders and SBR it. I started building a Mak90 on an 80% receiver but ran out of time and it has sat in a box about 70% complete for the past 3 years. I just need to press in the front trunion and trigger guard rivets and it would be good to go (hopefully).

Here's the Mak90 - (notice the lack of photographic skills and crude tools, ha!)

I have the tooling and the press if you want to finish it up. Pressing the barrel into the trunion is not too hard and then you have to press the barrel pin in place. But before that you will want to do the trigger guard. If you are missing any rivets or the barrel pin, I have extras. Shoot me a PM and we can set things up. I am in Puyallup.

Make it more purty and change the stock and add a hand grip, thread the barrel for a flash suppressor and ad a cleaning rod. I would also change the front sight tower and replace it with one that will accept a bayonet. Just my  :twocents:. Mak-90 stands for modified AK 1990's after the Clinton import ban. That is why they had a thumb hole stock no flash suppressor and no bayonet lug. They do shoot real nice and the milled receiver is worth a little more than a stamped receiver.

I don't want this thread to die so here is another pic of my latest build. I got a good deal on the parts and I did not want to pass them up. 7.62x39 pistol.

I know more of you gun guys have some more pics to post. Let's see them.

Maybe, I have not really thought of doing that. They are pretty stable shooting with a tight one point sling.

No not really. I have several rifles in several different calibers. I just like "guns". Plus, since I built all the AK's I have, that is part of it also. I have gone on to build several other rifles also. AR's from 80% receivers, HK's, I even built a M1 carbine.
