Reel Class Charters all day. Used to be a captain with them and they can flat out fish. They will always go the extra mile in finding fish. Sometimes we would venture a long ways from town to find our fish, but it was always very well worth it. My favorite place in the world the month of June

I have been fishing Sitka  every year for 20+ years. Kevin Mac at Island View Charters is the man. He is the owner of the nicest lodge in Sitka and he still fishes every day. Great boats and equipment and he goes and he works hard to make it special. If you decide to go PM for some good local info. We have gone in June for big kings and now go in August due to the 6 silver limit and we still limit on Kings.

I would not say the nicest lodge. That would go to Greg Kain

I have been to both. Not even close. Island View has there own marina with a lodge that sits on the water. Its was built on the site of a commercial fishermans house and still has the net shed with a new rock fireplace and BBQs. Hot tubs on the decks and the lodge is decked out in trophy animals from the region. Gregs lodge sits on the other side of the road up the hill. Nice view and lodge but once people go to Island View chances are they found there new summer get away.

Kains Fishing Adventures if you're looking for a great lodge/good fishing.

Reel Class Charters if you want the best fishing captains and are wanting to stay in town to choose your own after fishing activities.

Either one you will be very happy with. I would go with Reel Class  :twocents:

I wouldn't go to Sitka. I was stuck there for 4 months last summer.... I hate Sitka.

Have a cold one at the P-bar for me :party1:
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I smoke two fish in the morning, I smoke two fish at night, I smoke two fish in de afternoon makes me feel alright

Like LabChamp, I used to run a boat for Reel Class Charters as well. Their 3 boats will catch more fish in a week than many boats will catch in a season. They are willing to travel to where the fish are, not just stop at the Cape and put the riggers out and hope they find them. Because they do travel to distant locations, they know where the fish will be, its not a discovery mission.

Their boats are 32' walk around aluminum fishing machines, custom built to allow 6 anglers to mooch comfortably. They prefer to mooch if possible, not just troll because its convenient. If you want to troll, they will dominate.

Derek Floyd, the owner, is a local, lives on Camano Island. If you follow winter blackmouth fishing here, you have heard his name as he has won the Roche Harbor derby a few times and places in the money every year. Brilliant salmon fisherman.

If you want the best fisherman, and are willing to be put up in the best hotel in town, get your own drinks at the P-Bar and find your own dinner, than they are your crew. If you want a fancy lodge and ok fishing, then they aren't.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.
