Elk hunted it from the Deadman side for elk a couple years ago, only decent buck i saw, i would have shot only with non-permit tag, maybe 150 ish.  Honestly, may sound crappy, but saw more Bulls than bucks, more bears than bucks, and more cats than bucks, but I have heard there are some dandys in there. Its a pretty cool part of the world that not many folks get to visit. I think its probably in the definition of a quality hunt, like many quality hunts,  I think a hunter needs to be prepared to eat your tag for the big one. I put in for it every year, just because its a real test, a true human test. Good luck, yes a spotting scope with a spotter is a great idea. Keep your eyes out for Bigfoot.

And remember, you can't shoot bears or cats in the shed. At least it has been that way in the past.

These two up and comers were in the shed a few weeks back. I took that pic from the road maybe 100yards above them. Yes I said "above", LOL!

I wish i had your luck to draw that tag! There are some big ones in that unit so I would hold out for a wall hanger!

From what I understand you can have one non-hunting partner with you on the hunt. Let me know if you need someone to go with you the last 5 days of the season. I drew quality bull at the end of October and it would be a good chance for me to get in there to figure things out. I will be spending the Oct 3-9 muzzle loading deer in Lick Creek (175), but will be available earlier if I tag out.

Lace up your boots tight and wear a safety chute.  It's killer steep in there with unordinary heavy brush in the draws due to lack of wildfires in the shed.
There is no greater respect to have for wildlife than to harvest an animal fairly and use it's flesh to feed your family.  ~me
