Heard about lots of tag holders but I haven't heard of anyone with the east okanogan tag. I love hunting up there, and since I was not selected I figured someone had to of drawn.

I drew east Okanogan. It's been 6 or 7 seven years since the last time I drew it. My buddy drew last year and missed a chance at a good whitetail, ended up taking a smallish 8 point.
When we last talked about the hunt he said deer activity seemed very slow last year compared to the other years we've drawn. I'm going to hunt the last week of the week of the season since that has usually been our most successful time. Fingers crossed for a giant whitetail!

From what I've been told the area I usually hunt has changed a ton in the last 3 years. Roads opened that used to be closed and some logging in 2 of my favorite spots. I'll be making a trip up there during the regular season to get an update on the new lay of the land.

PM me and I'll give you REAL INTEL. I know a Border Patrol Agent who bow hunts and also works for his money we pay him, he gets out of his truck and walks the cut (border ). He WILL share with me all kinds of info you won't get from guys who live on the westside ( no offense ) that have hunted there for 40 years. He's a real go getter. Also (FYI) the wolves are killing a bunch of game all over this entire area, which the WDFW won't tell anybody about. Also, ATV's are 100% LEGAL to use, like it or not, in that entire area and Okanogan National Forest if they have the ORV sticker and you wear a helmet. The lay of the land will not change and I don't know of any new logging activity over there, because I know all the local loggers.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Deer activity was certainly different last year than it has been in previous years. Even the late season was tough for a lot of people. The activity on our cams was no where near what it normally is. Hoping things are a lot better for this year. Good luck to all who drew.
