Gmu 127 second deer?
« on: July 10, 2015, 12:09:24 PM »
Since I won the hunt wa March madness brackets i won some hunting access to some land in Gmu 127.  I was also lucky enough to draw a second deer tag for the same Gmu.  Is there any other public land in the area to hunt?

Quite a bit of public in 127 really. I'm sure you know of mica peak. But there are other pieces around. Check some maps or send a pm if you want.

Sheesh...here we go....another newbie that has drawn a coveted tag, doesn't know where to go, doesn't bother doing his own research, and will rely on the charity of others to bail him. out.

Pm inbound with a complete map of C-Post!

I had this tag once. I found that more than half the landowners I asked permission of before the season said yes for no trespass fee.

There is public land but if you have private it will be a slam dunk to get it done there.  Two days max is my guess for you to fill the tag....assuming you are going to use a gun, just messing with you, I would give it a whirl with the bow and have the gun on standby.

Congrats and have fun, those whitetail are delicious over there, a really close second to elk.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I hunt GMU 127 and have drawn that tag. Start knocking on doors and ask.  You'll be surprised how many farmers will give you permission to fill a doe tag on their land and you don't have to go too far south from Spokane to find places to hunt.  In my experience, the trespass/access fees are more common in the southern half of GMU 127.  You shouldn't have to pay to fill your tag on land just south of Spokane.  If a farmer wants to charge you to fill a doe tag just move along and go ask the farmer next door.

Good luck!
