3 pin adjustable sight pro-con !?

Thinking of making the switch to a 3 pin adjustable sight with the same functionality of a single pin (non- chinnese) any experience with these?  Hunting use mostly

Unless cbe has changed something or my buddy just got a bad one. If you dialed the sight down too far the head would fall off. That's why I went MBG.

IMO - neither has really good quality machine work.  Neither has top quality pins.  Each has issues with fiber cracks and/or fiber breakage.  Neither micro adjusts all that well.  And both are so ugly I think they had to be engineered to look that bad.

In contrast to those things there is absolutely no dispute that both companies have greatly improved durability and function over the past few years.  Both adopted angled tape bars that are a nice touch.  Both have good functional bubbles (surprising how few good ones there are on the market).  The MBG guys are some of the nicest folks you will run into in this industry.  Both have outstanding customer service.  Both fit into a very attractive price point compared to the premium sight manufacturers.  And of course they are two of less than a hand full of companies making three pin slider options - have to give them extra kudos for that

Have too look into a spot only seen single pins on their sights.  any other multi-pin sliders worth looking into

make sure you go back to your base setting every time ! g5 make a single and a triple pin with just a bottom mover . kinda cool for hunting allways have that top pin.

The hogg father can be ordered as a mover!  I think you can do 3 pin also but it is expensive!

have the B&G slider... was a 5 pin but removed 2 to make a 3 pin... love it, and if I break any pins or fibers, have 2 spares on hand

 The Montana black gold three pin  that I had was very loud on the release. I got rid of mine because of A vibration in it

I've never really understood the need for a five pin mover.  Plus I really dislike that large pin guard.  We have a few of the Tommy Hogg 3 pins here.  They don't get used much as they are too heavy for the wife and I don't use Spot Hogg.  But they are a nice hunting sight once you remove the lock and the micro adjust.  They make that easy to do.  Then all you need to do is find something to plug up the hole so no dirt gets in there.  I used aluminum duct tape and some JBWeld stick.  If it didn't throw off the balance of the bow so bad it would be one heck of a good sight - tough, good pins, smooth adjustability, center wire and stays in place even without the lock.  Maybe they will offer a three pin Fast Eddie soon and you won't have to mess with it!  Knowing Spot Hogg you may be able to special order one now

Could be.  Sure wouldn't hurt!

I personally like the Sure-Loc better, but they no longer offer the 3 pin with a small aperture.   The new Red Slider 3 pin is HUGE 

I have also been spending some time with the new Axcel Accutouch and I have to say "Wow!  What a sight!!"  Only problem there is they do not offer a multiple pin option yet.  Well that and you'll have to take a second mortgage out on the house to pay for the dang thing!!!  CL likes the pin stops - I did not and took them off.

I have not personally had a Fast Eddie on a bow yet.  I know they lightened the bracket up a little over the Tommy Hogg.  Whether that is enough or not I just do not know.  But, I guarantee it will be much higher quality machining and a lot better looking than either the MBG or the CBE.  And, the pin adjustments and center wire might make the trade off for weight and balance worth it!

Few bowhunters ever regret spending the extra money to jump from a reasonable sight to a premium quality sight.  Same with arrow shafts and quivers.  Myself I would rather have a $400 bow, a hairy hole and bargain basement camo than have a cheap sight on a $1500 bow.  Though I'd probably take bargain everything for a good release!

Don't let me not using Spot Hogg stop you from trying one.  I shot Spot Hogg exclusively for a lot of years.  Probably sold a thousand more.  Quality of the product has never been the issue!

You may not like the noise of the slide lock/micro adjust or the weight of the TH.  But I think you will really like it's durability, center wire and quality.  While the TruBall stuff is on a whole other level of quality...it comes at a price.  A very HIGH price $$$

Update:  After a few 3-D shoots CL has now agreed with me and taken the pin stops off.  Was a great idea, just comes with some micro adjust issues we decided were better without them.
