When a timber company closes their land?

That is to walk in also, correct?  Or is it company specific?  Should i just call and find out?  So all scouting activity is to come to an immediate halt basically is what I'm asking?  Will they slap you with trespassing charges if they catch you?

Typically there are two options...either, Closed to motorized vehicles. Or closed to ALL access.

Best bet is to call and find out before driving to the location. Or take a trip and check the gates, there will be signs up.

My problem is i don't access it from gates, but there is a sign up that says "closed to public entry due to extreme fire danger" on the gate.  That's not clear enough for me because I'm not entering there.

   if it is posted at the gate it applies to all that company's ground, and that does not matter where you access it from....Nice try though

It means their land is closed to public entry. Period.

Well if it's posted at the gate i just assumed it's motorized access, like people with woodcutting permits or people with motorcycles and stuff.  That's why i asked, i don't see what my feet are going to set on fire regardless of how fast i walk.  If you think i want to look like an idiot you can keep beating your head against a wall though, doesn't hurt me.

Besides, i checked their website and it says they "urge caution" and "compliance with no camping, smoking or fires policy".  It doesn't say closed to all access, stay off our land or else.  Again, that's why i'm asking, so i don't look like an idiot walking in and getting arrested or something.

Until we get some rain I think I would stay out of the woods; but especially if it's posted with signs stating no entry. I think you probably wouldn't be up there smoking and building a campfire but if something did get started elsewhere in your section of the woods there will be hell to pay. They'll be looking for a scapegoat to cover their costs and it ain't cheap.

Due to the increasing fire danger, Southwest WA Tree Farm non-permit lands are closed to
public access. This includes motorized vehicles, walking, biking or horseback riding. If you have
a valid Southwest WA recreational access permit you will be allowed to access the designated
permit areas unless conditions continue to escalate.

I posted what their website says, i'm not going to sit here and argue.  Again, it doesn't say closed to all entry on their website, it says they urge caution to those intending to use their lands and ask for compliance with their no camping, smoking or fires policy.  I'll just stop asking questions when i have them.  Thanks anyways.

It's not St Helens.  I'll just call the hotline.  Thanks to those that tried to be helpful.

My areas have the same closed due to fire danger.  Didn't bother checking the website.  Land is posted closed in the real world, good enough for me without needing to look online to confirm.

Ignorance can go both ways if you don't talk to source and rely on heresay on a forum. I asked a simple question about confirming with the timber company and whether anyone has for walk in access.
