Hardtop types, MLC vs RLC
« on: August 11, 2015, 12:33:16 PM »
I've been researching boats a lot lately, in particular Hewescraft OceanPro and Alaskan series. They breakdown their hardtop types with an acronym of RLC or MLC, but I cannot for the life of me find a definition describing the difference. Does anyone know the difference or where I can find it without picking up the phone and calling Hewescraft?

Mid length cabin, or Regular length cabin is what it says in the brochure I have. But I don't know which is shorter. I have been looking at them since they came out. I would like a hard top but you might have to add AC for Ringold fall fishing.

Wow this post is all over the place.

From my research, the regular length cabin is the smaller of the two. Basically ends right at the sleeper benches. My goal is to have as much cockpit room as possible for fishing, but be able to retreat to an enclosed heated space if the weather is crap. Also, I'm planning for 5-10 years down the road when I hope to be boat camping with the fam, and having a hard top that not only closes securely at night, but I can also put a small raft on top for shore excursions and the like.

And nice handle luvs2cuddle. Classy.

Trust me......Luvs2cuddle is my bro in law! Classy indeed.

He made that handle right after having a kid and was a little sleep deprived. I forgive him.

Carry on.
