This is the earliest reference I have seen to date for "assault rifles" other than the media hyped scare tactics. Does anybody know when the evil black rifles became known as "assault rifles"?

I'm pretty sure the term started with the Germans in world war 2. The media and liberals have coopted the name for a dieffenbachia class of weapon twit they're afraid of because of how it looks.

The story that I heard is that it was Hitler that first called the MP 43 a “Sturmgewehr“ translates to storm rifle or assault rifle.
