What are you cutting this for? To tan? To Mount?
For tanning only cut from one back foot along the back of the leg. Through the anus to the same spot on the oposite foot. Split the tail all the way to the tip on the bottom side of the tail. You need to remove the bone.
Now just tube it. If you are going to take it to a taxidermist to tan you can leave the skull and feet in. If not than you will need to remove them.
When removing the skull cut next to the skull. When removing the toes I usually seperate them and hold them with a pair of plyers and remove the entire toe bone to the toe nail joint.

Yeah spit the tail on the underside and than cut from one foot along the back of the leg through the anus and up the back of the other leg to the other foot.
Now just start skinning. Don't cut the skin any more. You are basiclly inverting the skin. Like taking off a sock.

Nothing specific at this time (i have not killed one yet), just need to know for when the occation arrises.
I would like to do a at least a rug on my first yote if it's not mangy.
Peter
Do you or know of any one that buys or trades for coyote hides?
I do plan on shooting more than one but will not be keeping all the hides, it i knew of someone that wanted them, it would be nice to see them used for something and not go to waste.

If you are skinning it to make a rug than you are goin to want to cut it differently. I would suggest taking the coyote right to the taxidermist and letting them skin it out.
As for buying hides you may want to try a local fur buyer. Even them your not going to get alot. In the round and unskinned your looking at less than $15.
If you want to skin it for a rug refer to the post I made in the Bear Forum. It is a sticky at the top of the list and will give you instructions.
You run into problems or don't understand the instructions you call me and I will talk you through it.

The kit that you are looking for is called

. I have used this process for the past 8 years. All you need to do is follow the diresctions in the box. If you have questions about the process I can help.
