Bighorn loading trouble
« on: August 16, 2015, 09:49:26 PM »
Does anyone know where I can get a sabot that will load easier with my 290 grain Barnes tmz spitfires? These are a boat tail bullet so I have no clue where to even check. The bullets group really nice in my rifle and performed flawlessly on two elk kills. I hate to change something when it works, but getting these down the pipe sucks! Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Try the T-EZ's. They're the same bullet, with a slightly smaller sabot, which will allow for easier loading. Many of the tighter bores require these bullets. Good luck!

Are you lubing the sabot as you load it? I use a dab of bore butter on the sabot on my Bighorn.

I use those in my BH.  They are snug, but do able for me.

My Rem 700ML, those are really tight
