Stealth Cam I 430 IR slow picture taking.
« on: January 12, 2009, 11:36:15 PM »
recently got a new gc and have been experimenting with how to place, where to place, and baiting.  out of all the pics taken so far i've only gotten two pictures of a coyote.  the gc has taken around 50 pics.  i've tried single photos, and up to the 9 photo burst.  it seems that the speed between the time the motion sensor detects to the time the pic is taken is quite slow. :bash:  the next thing i guess is to put it on video mode and see if it will pic up whatever is setting it up.  i've cleared all branches out of the way so i know it's not some branch setting it off.  i'm starting to get a little pissed since it takes some time to get where i set it up and the soak time it is in the field. >:(

My Stealth Cam has the same problem. I have read that its best to have it pointing down a trail so that the animals are walking almost directly towards it or away from it.  Its just the trees aren't usually in the right place.

Mine is very slo on the trigger also.  I had it set up in my yard to get pix of a bear (never got him).  Son and I were moving a 12 foot boat past the camera, and it barely got the tail end of me going by (missed my son and the 12 foot boat).  I was dissapointed.

Also the IR mode stays on too long.  mine stays in IR mode for almost 2 hours of light (all pix are whitewashed out)  I finally left it in day mode only, because I wanted the early AM pix
