My New Mexico elk hunt (previously known as big bull down)
« on: September 21, 2007, 01:46:18 PM »
The boys are back in town.  I knocked a big bull down the first day, ruining Idabooners camping trip.  Details to follow as soon as we get recovered from the journey.  Thanks for all of the positive thoughts from everyone.  My nerves were a bit frayed, but things came together.  lots of FUN memories.  Little short on pics as I didn't want to screw up the bulls too badly before I hunted them, but got to see some gorgeous animals and scenery.
I'll get the details soon!

You tease, at least throw out an estimate as to the score.  Come on dude, I've been wondering how it went.

SWEET....way to go. waiting impatiently for the story and pics.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Still working on pics.  Lots of things to get done before I can get em ready.  The bull grossed 336 and netted 333 (332 4/8).  I got him with the longbow.

Thanks!!!  I didn't get a chance to get Idabooner out there to get a picture of us both in our hats, but he proudly wore it.  Here he is totally enjoying camp, mixing his mountain music with our camp pets which didn't seem to mind his playing as they kept bugling away.
