Looking for East Okanogan Access
« on: September 07, 2015, 12:22:26 PM »
We drew three of the late rifle whitetail tags. Hunt 1206 I believe. I hope the residents are surviving the fires ok. We are respectful of the owners and responsible hunters. We would be willing to trade some Alaskan salmon and other stuff ie (whiskey or a small amount of money) to secure some private access. Please pm me if you have some whitetails in GMU 204. We know the area pretty well. I just don't have as much time to scout this year since I also drew a bull tag. Thanks in advance

Great tag! Hope you find some good deer! My friend's dad lives near Chesaw, there are some good bucks up there, you don't have to have private to get a nice buck up there, state land is good in that area too.
My wife and sister in law had these tags 16 years ago, we hunted down in the SE corner of that unit and found some good WTs for them to shoot.

The WDFW has a big area there, that is walk-in only. It's only a hop-skip and a jump west of Chesaw. Might try calling them and getting some info..

Plenty of public area in that unit not affected by the fire.  Some scattered small blocks of state land adjacent to private if you study the maps, in addition to NF.

I hunted up by Orovile about 4 years ago...had a huge Muley at about 65yards and then got busted by a doe...there are some nice Muleys up there...I am sure they will be the easier ones to find...

Hunt the Fir mtn area.
