Firearm rules question?
« on: September 07, 2015, 07:17:43 PM »
Im pretty sure its been on here before and I tried to search it but cant find it.

Are you required to hunt with your specific weapon during the high hunt?

Meaning if you have an archery tag for deer... Can you hunt modern in the high hunt.

Thx.

You must hunt your choice. Unless of course if you bought a multi- season permit

That's what I thought but didn't want to hear.  I didn't think there was an exception for high buck.

Thanks.

There is no early high hunt for archery tag holders. Modern and muzzleloader only.

No exception. You also have to wear orange regardless of what weapon you're hunting with on the high buck hunt.

Well there is, but it's just their normal general season.

Bob33 brings up an interesting point. There is no high hunt for archery guys. Most all of the wilderness areas are open to them via a general season but archery guys can't hunt the Pasayten. They still have to wear orange if they're hunting in an open high hunt area.

You can only hunt the season you are permitted, but you can hunt with a more primitive weapon.

Modern tags can hunt with muzzie or archery.  Muzzie can hunt with archery.
