Please help me identify a boat make/model "South Sounder"
« on: September 09, 2015, 01:34:24 PM »
While driving the other day I saw an Aluminum boat ~18-20' or so, towed behind a pickup. What a head turner! My neck is still sore. It looked to be just what I was looking for. On the side was, "South Sounder". Don't know if that was one word or two. It didn't look like the boat's name, rather the model of boat. It looked like it also had the brand name of Lund, but I'm not sure about that.

Internet searches haven't turned up anything like that. It looked like a perfect boat for Puget Sound Salmon fishing or crabbing or shrimping . . . whatever. I'd be real interested in buying one and abandoning the 16' tri-hull Evenrude 1964 restoration project that has gone nowhere in the last five years.

Can anyone help? It was completely painted - not just bare Aluminum.

There's some fine looking boats, for sure - but nothing like the one I saw. That one had a conventional pointed bow. I only had a brief look at it as it passed in the opposite direction. It had a generous freeboard, something ideal to fish from.
