Anyone get an ELk in Winston during Archery?
« on: September 16, 2015, 04:05:20 PM »
Hey bringing my brother up to Winston tomorrow one of his only 2 days off of work this month. We are looking to harvest an elk tomorrow. My dad and I will do the calling if need be. I've called them in during modern season so I'm sure I can do it now during rut. But has anyone got one up there this year yet?

If so pics please

and If he gets one we will post pics and story!

A lot of the Winston is gated now and you have to have a permit now but their is some public land that you can still hunt

Hunted all this week in the Winston.  Didn't hear any bugles and didn't see any elk, usually we see them daily.  Most of the hunters we talked to were having the same luck.  Paid for the weyerhauser tag and the gates are the same as last year.
