Where to Hunt in Skookumchuck?
« on: September 17, 2015, 04:18:40 PM »
I know nobody likes to give out there elk hunting areas, but if someone could point me to a general area to camp and elk hunt in GMU 667 I would greatly appreciate it.  I don't need exact areas but maybe just a general road to look for a camp site.  Thank You in Advance

Do you have a wayco permit? If so I would hang around the area above the steam plant, seen good amount of elk up there.

I don't know of any camping in the unit as most of it is controlled by Weyco. There's a KOA campground off of exit 93 on I-5 (east) that may be the closest you can get. Somebody else can chime in if they know of any better spots.

The land just south of Alder Lake and west of highway 7 is state forest board land I think it becomes weyco west of Ladd Pass.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3
