Go deep and steep. Doesn't have to be too steep though. Best bulls in the 346 are being shot deep into the Norse Peak this year. It has been hit and miss and not so good of a year for bulls being killed as in years past according to a knowledgeable source I talked to on tuesday afternoon.

We hunted the whole season there had a blast but didn't fill are tags . I miss 2 bulls during the hunt . Had hang fires with the muzzle loader both shots. Ended up seeing 13 bulls during the hunt. Was beautiful country and great hunt just couldn't make it happen.

I'm new to muzzleloading and have shot about 20 shots ever, all of them this year between the range and one shot on a blacktail buck I got but haven't experienced any misfires yet. What is a hang fire? And what do you think caused it? I'm putting about 6 grains of 4f black powder down before my pyrodex pellets as a primer and using RWS German Musket caps in a Vortek strikerfire northwest. Thanks for the help!
