laser rangefinder
« on: September 20, 2015, 07:08:44 PM »
I couldn't find a thread on this. I currently have a cheaper bushnell model which is fine for archery out to 100 yards. Need a big target after that. Lookng for a good quality rangefinder that will get out to 1000 yards. Thanks

It depends what your looking for in a rangefinder. Vortex won't make it too 1000 yrds on nonreflective objects. Mine goes 600-750. The laser beam is also fairly large so when your ranging out aways it will pickup closer objects in the view and will give you a false reading. If you get a higher end range finder like a leica you will have more aaccurate readings because of the laser size.

The vortex plus is lifetime warranty everyone else is lifetime on glass and 2 years on electronics
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

So what I'm looking for in a rangefinder? Honestly I don't shoot much past 300 yards. Maybe 350. Just looking for something to range a deer at a distance and then move in closer. The Leicas seem really nice, but a little complicated to set up? Then I'm not sure between the 1000 and the 1600 or would the Vortex do what I need it to?
