I have had my m77 ruger 7mm for 12 years all of the sudden having trouble getting it zeroed anyone having this problem with this rifle?

If its a wood stock see if it is swollen and touching the barrel.

Check the torque on the stock bolts, and verify that your scope hasn't failed or come loose.  If you have an extra scope that you can put on it and check it makes thing easier. 

Is this an original M77 or a MKII?

Get a bore light and see if the barrel fouled. Maybe try shooting from a gun vise. My 7mm seems to shoot Remington corelocks in very tight groups, are you shooting factory ammo?

There's probly half a dozen reasons. I know someone else with one of these rifles that's fairly old and the thing is still a tack driver. so ammo change could be a possibility. check your rings and bases to see if they are tight. check the stock make sure its properly tight and not swollen or cracked anywhere. final thing I would check would be the scope, optics sometimes get hit just right or wear out and wont hold zero anymore.

its got a synthetic stock had a leupold scope on it when it seemed to start going south just put a vortex HD with new mounts and rings still the same problem. have always ran factory Rem 175gr core locks. thanks all for feedback.

Is it all over the place? Are you getting it zeroed then it moves? What's it doing exactly?

last time out took 14 shots 8 in the bull ring 6 were from 6 to 10 inches all over the board and yes was using a vise.

are you starting off grouping then it not or are you spraying? are you shooting cold? is it drifting after a few shots? does it ever zero? lots of potential reasons if in a sled, that eliminates flinch (at least it should). same ammo you have always used or something new? have you cranked the reticles to end ranges?

I would start to eliminate one thing at a time. most intrusive items first or those that would affect follow on eliminations ie scope mounts and clean barrel, should maybe start there. torque and lock-tite them.. reinstall scope and bore sight like you are sighting in a new rifle and don't shoot the barrel hot take your time.

I was going to make some snarky comment about if it had a Leupold scope on it.
Time to make that time-honored trip to Beaverton.
Otherwise, I would guess fouling.

Mine did that couple years ago. Scrubbed the living daylight out of the barrel and the groups came back in tight.

I would say clean it really good as well. also 14 shots is a lot for a hunting rifle if it has a light weight barrel and it doesn't have time to cool. my 700 in 7mm will start to "pattern" after about 6 shots in a row, but before that it stacks them on top of one another. if I let the barrel cool after about a 4 shot string its just fine and will maintain accuracy.

 I have a couple of them and one has been my go to rifle for 30 years without a fail. I'm with the majority, betting it's a scope or mount issue.

Have you re torqued the action screws? Some of the rugers I've dealt with need to have the front angled action screw tightened first and as absolutely tight as you can get it then snug the rear and just tighten the middle enough it wont spin out. I also locktite these after every time I place the action back in the stock.

I have a M77 and it will do exactly what you are describing when it gets dirty. Clean the living daylights out of it and I will bet it starts shooting great again
