Hodgdon.com is an excellent source.  I rarely open up my pre-interent manuals as there is better info on the internet from experienced loaders.

I would pick a bullet or powder mfr and start there. The speer manual is a great one as they are part of rcbs, and the same for Hornady....both making tools and bullets is nice to relate to. The Sierra manual is awesome, but most don't think for their bullets as hunting bullets.....I have a different opinion.

The books make a good reference to compare online data. At the end of the day, if you are seeing velocity that spanks the book by much over 50fps.....you're probably cheating.

I like my Sierra manual the best and I get a lot of data online. As others have said, it's good to look at several sources.

Both of these are GREAT for new and old reloaders. I would highly recommend both of them as well as whatever bullet they will be using & the powder manufacturer's resources online.

My go to manual is my Lyman issue 47, then the component makers i.e. bullets, powder, manual and compare.

As a new reloader this Lyman manual is a good place to start....... Learn the process, methods and signs of possible danger.

hands down my favorite for an easy reference is the Hodgdon annual manual.   I have multiple books that I will cross reference the data with but for a very accurate quick reference I always get the annual manual / magazine.

Me and Mr. Hornady's book have been getting along pretty good but I sure would like that classy Swift manual and I just feel an affinity for Lyman, probably be the next one I get.

Another vote for The ABC's Of Reloading. This book has everything you've ever wanted to know about things that use gun powder! The history, the evolution and molecular breakdown of it. I dont even think I could use all the information in that book.

I have several of these in different calibers. They have multiple bullet and powder manufactures. For $7, 8$ pretty good deal for single caliber loads rifle and pistol.
