Getting excited!
« on: September 25, 2015, 07:50:45 PM »
I can't wait for my "grandpa's" moose hunt. Him, my dad and a couple other gentlemen are heading over Monday. I have to wait until Wednesday :bash: I hope he gets a nice one. I'm going to have a sore back since my dad and I are the only ones going who aren't in our 70's and my dad is 54 :chuckle:. Sorry for the babbling but I'm too excited not to.

Babble away!  My hunt is in November and I can't wait- completely boring family and friends with my planning.  You guys have a safe, successful hunt.  Nothing like time hunting with the family.  Look forward to seeing the pics.

My hunt ended Saturday and I'm still excited.

I'm also very pumped for everyone else to have the experience we had. My friends son has a mt spokane south moose tag.

Good luck to Grandpa.

Grundy,  were are you staying? We'll be there Thursday afternoon and we're camping at the Fair grounds in Cusick. As a heads up I was scouting this weekend and stopped in at the fire command center, They told me that Mill creek and Cee Cee Aw roads WILL NOT be open for some time, maybe end of Oct they said.

Long piece of rope and some blocks. Also the tag holder is disabled and can't really get off of the road.

That will definitely be good eating, and lots of it!  Looks like the Barnes did what it was supposed to, lost one petal.  How far was the shot?  Congratulations on a nice animal not many of us get to harvest.

260 yards. The petals didn't worry me. It was the lack of expansion. Like I said it did the job but the lack of expansion was worrisome.

I wouldn't use mule tape it. It is definitely strong enough but doesn't do well burning over logs and rocks and such.

That one will eat much better than the rubber moose I killed this year.  I too pulled mine out of the brush with rope, which gets it to a spot that is much cleaner to process it.  Good job!
