Anyone want to move to Canada
« on: September 26, 2015, 09:58:41 AM »
Stumbled across this article from about a year ago out of Canada. I thought it was very interesting. With Canada's socialized medicine and even worse immigration policies I wouldn't have thought they would be as "bright-line" with trapping. It's an interesting read.

http://www.pri.org/stories/2014-10-02/canadas-mounties-find-themselves-battle-over-furry-muskrat-hats

Here is the best quote from the article.

"I would like to assure Canadians that the historic fur winter hats worn by the RCMP will not be discontinued despite the efforts of the radical animal rights activists. The RCMP decision which is causing much glee among anti-fur activists is being fully overturned. Our government will always stand up for Canada's hunters and trappers."
"Smoked carp taste just as good as smoked salmon, when you ain't got no salmon"

Social medical coverage and immigration policy is not indicative of hunting/trapping policy :)

I would move there in one second.

I'll watch your pistols and half your rifles while you are gone.  Better yet, when you hit Canada, keep going until you get to Alaska.
