Phone GPS App For Dummies
« on: September 30, 2015, 09:31:37 AM »
I have MotionX right now. Paid $10 for it I think? Well its nice and robust but probably moreso than I really need. I'm looking for a really basic app that allows me to mark the truck and when I am lost and bumbling around I can simply pull up the app and an arrow points me back to the truck with an obvious arrow. Don't care if it doesn't even have maps.  Free is good, but a few bucks is fine.

thank

I presume you are looking for Android, because it appears that MontionX does not support Android (correct?).

I cannot help you with a GPS app, but a decent, free basic compass app is below.  It can uses GPS sensor to also display some GPS data, and is relatively free of nagware.  Also displays BP, if your phone is equipped.

I use GaiaGPS.  Works great and costs a few bucks.  You can download maps and then have them available when you don't have service.  Always gets me back to the truck

Not that I know of.  I only hunt National Forest so never had a use for that feature.
