I don't have the patience for this...let alone the patience to right a story up over multiple days. Lol. Just joking. I'm only half serious.  :hello: we're all on the edge of our seats. Thanks for taking the time to write your story.

See what you did Plat!
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

I pulled  my pack off as the bull stood there  bugling, and chuckling. "One with the elk" gave him a few more calls after the bugle and he came charging in. I couldn't  see him the brush  was in the way, but I knew he was no more than 10 yards away. I had the wind in my favor so I wasn't worried about busting him. When was 10 yards away he let another bugle out, talk about exciting when you have never experienced a bull bugle so close. It is something I will never forget.

As I sat there a lot of things went through my head. Was this really happening? I kept asking myself. I also kept telling myself don't screw this up lol. Well the bull started to move way from me towards an opening about 30 yards away. I stood up knowing I would get a shot, and there he stood not more than 30 yards away. What a magnificent animal the rocky Mountain elk is! I raised my smoke pole for the shot, and connected the dots on the open sights. I aimed for the boiler room, and pull the trigger. The knight bighorn had spoken.

"One with the elk" is Plat by the way.  So after the shot  the bull disappeared, and the tracking  began. He went about 100 yards and piled up. My shot went in slightly quartering away and came out to his front shoulder. The bull was still alive so I had to put another in him to finish him off. I couldn't believe my eyes this was my biggest bull to date!
