3 cows, 3 bucks so far...
« on: October 09, 2015, 07:32:24 PM »
Went in partners and drew cow tags with a couple friends. Put the herd to bed night before opening day. Saturday saw us coming at them from opposite canyons. Heard bull was screaming and fending off 5 satellites. The heard was on private property so we just had to wait for them to cross 400 yards from where they were at. They did...

Friends Mark and Nick both got bucks also. No details as we're not camped anywhere near echother this year. Nick's buck was shot 100 yards from Sierra's deer and 300 yards from my cow.  Mark's was nearby the next day. Pretty well cleaned out that area for now... ;)

One more down. Brought along the daughters boyfriend this year. Had to get him all set up and taught how to shoot black powder. He's a good guy and I was happy to introduce him to our way of hunting.

My boys missed the chance to take his buck yesterday but they learned a valuable lesson about deer eyesight.

Gabe took it using a .50 Wolverine shooting PR Bullet 260 grain and 100 grains 3f T7. Shot was at 110 yards through both shoulders and exit.

He was unsure of gutting so drug it whole to the road. I got to help him learn the process. Great day! Love it!
