In the past two days I have seen several brand new rubs and two new scrapes. Plus, two nice bucks on game cam during daylight. NE Wa.

Not here in SW WA. At least not during the day.

That started in early September near me. No swollen necks yet, but i've seen some bucks traveling cam to cam and they've been sparring over my bait pile for a month and a half. Have yet to see them in daylight except one time in August, my big 3 point showed at a bait pile over a mile away at 9am. Only one time.

My big 3 point showed at my cam at 9:50 am Friday... the day that my buddy had convinced me to scout for rifle elk with him.

Right on huntingbaldguy. Day by day I am seeing increased activity. Two target bucks during daylight last week. Several pictures with one big guy nose high in the air sniffing. Still mostly nocturnal but we will see what the next several days bring. dark sky, rain always helps. FYI, last two years show me that 10-12 am are hot times for movement.

Was in my blind til 11 yesterday. He came in at 1pm. Think he's toying with me lol. Time to put some wicks up with estrous and try to close the deal with some calling. And yes i'm seeing the same, seems mid day is hot travel time. I'll be set up all day tomorrow.

I have a Nov 12-15th hunt planned for Kettle Falls area due to that's when I usually see the most rut action over there. Should I be considering changing my dates?
It's a long ways to go and I want to try and hit it just right.

I'd be kind of bummed if the actual rut starts this early... I really like the late (Nov 25th- Dec 15th) bow season for whitetail.

Had a doe and fawn in the yard when I got home yesterday... I watched them till it got dark... No buck in sight. I did see a spike in downtown Lake Stevens today by City Hall around 11:30... Can't say I ever seen that before...
