Great bull, congrats to the hunter. I'm home for today. Hunted hard all day yesterday, no elk sightings. Not sure about Friday, gonna hit it again Saturday. Down to the wire. I am surprised to say my brain is wearing out much more than my body. I feel pretty good physically, other than normal aches and pains associated with elk hunting. So many days with out even a sighting is hurting me between the ears. Not use to this. I am sure seeing some beautiful country though.

You'll find one.  It seems like some of my best hunts were the hard ones.  Best of luck.

We have hunted the Manastash side for the last 2 days, we filled our cow tag tonite..we saw 8 big bulls yesterday and 6 more today.  They are definitely moving.  Unfortunately no spikes.  We will try tomorrow for that spike!  Only wish I had a bull tag!!

Just because you have permits for stuff doesn't mean anybody can  just shoot at anything.

We have any bull and cow permits. So any elk that moves gets shot.

We have been hunting up there as well for a bull. We spent last Sunday through Sunday. We say 4 cows and a calf in the Manastash last Thursday. 1 spike umptanum mid day Friday (passed). Had a 6x6 run in front of the truck opening day of spike season. He was moving fast and hit the deep thick brush. Some younger kids pushed him out of the canyon up across the road. We spent 5 hours looking for him and never saw him again. We were in the umptanum. We went home for a break and heading back over tonight to try and fill a bull permit and cow permit. We are shooting anything that moves come tomorrow morning. We have a permit for all...
hmmm
so if they hold still you guys won't all open up on them?  :o :dunno:

If they got tags for the ones they shoot standing still with a clear line of sight why not?

No challenge if they're not moving.

Lol...that's been the problem. Everything we have seen has been running, running, and is probably still running. Lots of pressure. Should be a fun weekend.

I don't think I'd be picky or complaining if I had a tag that expires in days and I'm having a challenging or difficult time filling it and a gimme presented itself. :dunno: they put the time in looking and why not take an easy shot if it's legal and there :dunno:
