Is that the one for unscrewing that funny nut holding on the forearm? If so you can make one.

I just use a pair of needle nose pliers.  You open them up until the tips of the pliers fit in the little slots on the nut and turn to loosen then just remove the rest of the way by hand.  You can also cut down a thick wire or nail to fit in the slots and turn with a plier.

No need for any tools the bolt carrier is the key that fits that nut.

Are you talking about the nut that holds the barrel on? This thread has interested me since it started because you don't need a special too for that. I thought you were talking about something else although I wasn't sure what.

I'm referring to the open threaded "nut" that holds the forearm on, not the barrel. There is a special wrench that Remington sells for $25. I don't want to pay that much. I've tried the "open the long-nose pliers to fit the notches in the nut thing." but this was ineffective for me. I couldn't exert enough force on the nut to tighten it sufficiently. if someone knows how to make one cheaply with out lots of special tools I'd be happy to hear about it.

Gutpile: Thanks, you found the  exact  wrench. However, I aint gonna spend $25 dollars. I'll try to Gerry-Rig one. Perhaps I'll spend $40 bucks on a grinding wheel to make one. I can always use the grinding wheel for other things.

I have seen them made of just a flat piece of steel, a large notch cut from the middle to clear the tube then turn it with a cresent.
