Rookie weyhauser rd ?
«
on:

So having never been around the weyco tree farms. We were driving around this Sunday scouting for the upcoming youth cow hunt (Toutle unit). I noticed some of the roads had a number with a green arrow and some had a number and red arrow. What is the difference? Is green open and red closed? I couldn't find any info on it in my packet.

I know some of the Big W's land used to be run with the red / green dot system, these arrows may be from the old system. I'd look on the map they sent you and see if it says you can't drive on said rds. Good luck on the up coming elk hunt. Squidward

Red arrows indicate the road does not go through and eventually deadends, green arrows indicate that road goes through and connects to another road.

Green means it will connect with another road.
Red means dead end

Those are extremely unreliable. A lot of those green sign roads are gated. Washed out or blocked off. Weyco doesn't keep them updsted.

I realize that. Just wanted to give the O.P. a heads up.

Consider it a bonus if there is a sign.
Double bonus if that road also has a number on the map.

What Ive seen of Weyco maps and signs this year has been pretty pathetic. I can absolutely guarantee you some of those road signs have been up since before the mountain blew. I hauled logs from all over the St. Helens tree farm. Knew a lot of it like the back of my hand. Especially the Winston and Margaret units. When I was up there during muzzy season it was frustrating. Go up a rd. that showed open on the map and a few miles in it would be dug out or gated. No big deal. I know a rd. close by that will get me where I want to be. A few miles in and it was washed out. Happened a few times. The map showed open though. Also found that a lot of rd. #s on the maps didn't jive with the #s on the signs. It was frustrating. But I still had fun!
