Finally chasing some birds.
« on: December 02, 2015, 11:10:07 PM »
Oh, the dog is going to be so happy in the morning.  Hopefully the wind won't have the birds all hunkered down. Now, just have to check the tides....

Well, had three nice birds by 7:30 (Mallard and two Wigeon), first shot of the season was a hit    and missed a couple more.  Had a flock of about two dozen Common Mergs swim through my decoys at six yards (blurry picture, dark one on left is a decoy).  This sure put Amber's control to the test.   :chuckle:  Decided not to shoot as a small flock of Goldeneye was making its way toward me as well. At twenty eight yards, I missed them all.   :yike:

A bit later, four hen Mergs popped up in front of me and I managed to knock down three.  The rest of the morning, I saw some birds but couldn't get any to work.  Had to move up the beach as my dry blind by the post and rock got a bit damp.  All of the wood floated off before I left.

Awesome!  Nothing wrong with that day, except for the missing part....   :chuckle:
Picture #3 with Amber at your feet is frame worthy in my mind.

Thanks for sharing Loki.
